I have spent way too much time obsessing over what to write here… such a fine line between too formal and too personal, too cheesy or too stiff. I am neither of these things, but a mishmash somewhere in the middle. Heck, I’m still trying to figure it out!
What I know for sure?
My name is Ann, I’m a 30-something mom to three amazing girls, who keep me on my toes from school to soccer to ballet and back. My husband and I recently purchased our dream home, a little farm in our small (tiny!) town on the edge of the Dallas-Ft Worth metroplex. We’ve begun the daunting task of remodeling/redecorating/renovating that you can read about from time to time on my blog. I have a degree in journalism, which I think helps in my sessions, as I’m always looking to tell the story, not just capture what you look like. I’ve been documenting my life in pictures since I could hold a camera, and am beyond blessed to be able to do the same for others.
My work has taken me so many amazing places, from around the world to a backyard tree house.. each session is unique and special. I’m honored to work with Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, creating beautiful images of their inspiring patients for magazines, billboards, and other commercial uses. I’ve also been a part of a very unique project, I Fight Like a Girl, where my partner and I interview and photograph breast cancer survivors and chronicle their stories. I cannot tell you enough how touched I am that so many people continue to trust me with their family memories, and how seriously I take that responsibility. For all the fascinating places I’ve been and famous faces I’ve met, I am most proud of the fact that so many “clients” are now really and truly friends.

For the photographers out there.. I shoot with a Canon 1ds Mark II, and an assortment of lenses, most often my 50mm 1.2L. I do basic touch ups in Photoshop, but am not nearly as skilled as I should be, so I generally just aim to get the image right in camera and not need a lot of post processing. I prefer my work to look natural, real, and do only limited editing as needed. I am happy to answer any questions you have, whether about just starting out or a specific process or work of mine, just shoot me an email and I will get to it asap! I do not do any workshops or organized mentoring, nor do I sell templates for my wall gallery ideas or anything else, but I’m not above sharing advice when I can! Look forward to hearing from you!
