The only thing we at Ann Beck Photography love more than kids are the moms who come with them! We are thrilled to have a special weekend of Mom & Me little love mini sessions next weekend just for them, to capture that special bond, and let moms finally be in front of the camera, not behind it! We still have a few spaces left in our Saturday sessions, and plenty of time to book one as the perfect gift for your wife, mom, grandmother, or yourself!
We are so excited about our mom & me minis that we ran a special contest to give a session and $100 in prints to some deserving moms, and our inbox was flooded with fabulous nominations… such a hard choice! The goal was to pick two winners, but I could only narrow it down to three! Thanks so much to everyone who participated… I wish we could have chosen every single mom!! For today, though, these are the lucky three, in the words of their loving friends and family who nominated them… please contact me asap to schedule your time!
Kristin Hill
My sister, Kristin Hill, a youth minister’s wife and working mother of three young little girls has long been struggling with severe chronic fatigue, Epstein bar and debilitating migraines for which she has recently started seeking medical care. A true “giver” to friends, family, church and community… (for example) Kristin along with her husband and all three little girls, in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike when they themselves had no electricity for 10 days, were busily cleaning up the debris in neighbor’s yards while also helping to feed their friends on the block. Kristin is a talented photographer in her own right but has never had the opportunity or extra finances to have a professional photographer capture her with her family.
Mandy Joyce
She lost her husband to cancer during the summer of 2007 and has done an exceptional job with her 10th grader, 2nd grader, and 1st grader. On top of facing the challenges of being a single mom, she has macular degeneration of the eyes, has gone back to school (with the help of special equipment so she can see the course materials) in order to earn a degree and get back in the working world, and ALWAYS has a smile on her face. She is the most uplifting woman I know, and she inspires so many!
Whitney Mock
Mock makes the world a better place no matter where she goes. She’s the kind of friend who makes you want to be better, who helps you become a better woman by gently and lovingly showing you instead of telling you what to do and who loves you just the way you are. Mock loves her children to the point of tears: as she dropped her 2 preschoolers off on her way to Round Top, she was so guilt ridden because her angelic and sweet baby was a little unsure if Mama leaving for 2 days was a good idea. She was going to miss her babies, of course. But, the tears came because she will do anything to make the world right for those she loves.
Mock is extremely thoughtful and wants no recognition for her good works. She has single handily guaranteed that the potentially worst year for me has been the happiest, most joyful daily celebration. For that, I am forever indebted. For that, she deserves a chance to freeze time and have FABULOUS YOU make it a tangible reminder of how freakin’ awesome she is.
Congratulations to you three… and Happy Mother’s Day to everyone else!
