All you need is love

Our February mini sessions are just around the corner… time to spread a little love!

Bring your sweethearts for a fun valentine’s day love fest! We’ll head to the fabulous Fort Worth location seen here, where we’ll do a super cool urban shoot with your little lovebugs. Also a really fun idea for couples.. from the newlyweds to the 20th anniversary set, take 20 minutes to celebrate your love and have a little grownup fun!

All little love mini sessions are held on Fridays and Saturdays, 8am-12pm.  Sessions are 15 minutes long, scheduled 20 minutes apart, and ideal for one or two children (two subjects only).  Clients interested in a family session should schedule two consecutive slots to have enough time to get everything in.  Each session will yield about 10-15 proofs for you to review in your password-protected online gallery for 5 days.

All mini session clients can take 10% off our regular rates and take advantage of occasional bonus offers available only to them.  Orders received before the end of the 5 day gallery window can take an additional 15% off, for a total of 25% off the regular rates for their entire order.  All orders must be received within 30 days.

And as a special offer for my fabulous blog readers.. the first three people to email me today will win a free slot in the Friday mini sessions!  Each spot is good for up to 2 subjects, and the offer is good today only for the first three to reply!

Baby girl on the go

This little one was a ball of energy.. and what more should we expect at 18 months old?  She’s certainly grown a bit since the last time we met!  I won’t deny chasing her around was a workout… but when she flashed those sweet dimples, it was so worth the sweat!

It’s no wonder she has such a sweet glow… this little princess is the center of her mommy & daddy’s world, and cherished as such. rightfully so!  There are few things more precious than watching a little one be worshiped by her family, and to see her return the love just as passionately.

Of course my favorite moments were at the end… when little miss began to tire of our games… is there anything sweeter than a sleepy thumb sucker?

Side note… next Wednesday we’ll debut the guest bloggers.. we already have a few great features lined up, please contact us if you’d like to participate!  Happy Snow (okay, ice) Day! :)

Reach out and hug someone!

Did you know today is National Hug Day?  Not that anyone needs an excuse.. with all these kissable, huggable kids out there, find one you love and give them a good squeeze! :)

Happy Hugging!

Busy little bees

I spent yesterday with the most amazing family.. all so sweet and loving, and just as busy as can be! In my first 10 minutes I had three new best friends in these darling kiddos, and by the end of the day I had a fourth.. their sweet mom!

I’m still downloading all the images from the day-they loved watching the counter on my camera go up and up!-and my camera is taking a much needed nap.. but I couldn’t resist sharing just a few.

Our day consisted mostly of playtime at home.. snuggled on mom & dads bed or in one of the impeccably decorated kids’ rooms.  Either way, these three were thick as thieves…

We took a mid-morning break to *the coffee place* for some much-needed recharging and a visit with their favorite barista, who not only knows them by name but asked about the latest basketball game!  You know they say it takes a village to raise a child, and what good is any village without decent coffee & hot chocolate? :)

By then we were wearing down, so a few books later the kids crashed for a nap.

They awoke bright eyed and bushy tailed like every good kid should, and we filled the rest of the day with play, both inside and out in the warm sunshine.  Hooray for Texas winters!

And of course we finished with bath and bedtime, and just a *little* daddy wrestling, but like I said… still downloading!  Hopefully this is enough to give you a tiny glimpse into the fun we had… and enough to hold mom’s excitement off for the next few weeks!

Calling all bloggers (and wannabes!)

We’re constantly looking for ways to grow and improve the blog and we’ve got some fun ideas in the works., starting with weekly posts by you!

We’re looking for some volunteers to be guest bloggers, on any topic you think the readers will enjoy… crafts, recipes, parenting advice, home decoration/organization, fashion/shopping ideas, technology.. even just your random thoughts on life, whatever!  Anything you have to offer, we’d love to hear!  You can even plug your own blog, family or business, for that day and offer your services to our readers.  We’ll be featuring a different guest blogger each week, and depending on the response we might add some of you into the permanent rotation!

If you’d like to contribute, just email Erin (erin@annbeckphotography.com) with your name, location, and a brief description (a few sentences should be good) of what you’d like to write about and why.  She’ll compile all the volunteers and start assigning days.

I know we have some brilliant readers out there.. just the comments from November alone brought me to tears more than once!  I can’t wait to see what you all have to offer!

Have a great weekend!

September 11th & 12th: Turtle Creek Park

A beautiful wooded park with the creek as a backdrop, don’t be surprised if we see ducks or other water birds visiting our session! Serene and classic, there’s also a lovely stone bridge to provide a different setting.

October 16th & 17th: Ft Worth Botanic Garden

The garden gates, the turtle pond, the wisteria arbors, the neverending stone steps… there are so many reasons to love the Botanic Gardens for portraits! More natural and free than a traditional arborteum, portraits at the FWBG often look more like we wandered into a secret garden! Lots of options in a close proximity make this a perfect spot for minis!

October 24th: Photobooth Minis

An Ann Beck Photography original… a full day of mini sessions dedicated to just those fun, silly, candid and random moments snapped in the confines of a 2ft square photo booth! You can choose from the classic gray curtain or one of our bright backgrounds for a totally modern Brady Bunch look… the choice is up to you!  We’ve got a whole set of cards and collages designed specifically for these images, you can go retro and cool or hip and fun… or, with a little editing, both!  This is a one day only event, click here for more info!

November 6th & 7th: Dallas Arboretum

The Dallas Arboretum gives you so much more than just impeccibly manicured flowers and gardens; the grounds have a wide array of archictectural elements that lend perfectly to portraits.  Brightly colored doors, marble steps, iron gates and stone columns are just the begining! Also look for fun fall/holiday decorations around the area for a really seasonal look.

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone is enjoying a peaceful, loving, and joyful 2009! :)   Here’s to hoping it’s the best one yet!

We’re still on hiatus until Monday, and have some fun stuff planned to announce in the next few weeks, but I’m starting the new year off with our newest project.. the Image of the Month!  Each month we’ll pick one of our favorite pictures shot in the previous month as the new Image of the Month.  The winning picture will be featured on the top of the blog for the entire month, and the winning family receives an 8×10 of that picture and a $10 Toys R Us gift card as our prize!

No votes, no popularity.. just a way for us to showcase our favorites!

The January Image of the Month was an easy choice… this session was sweet baby girl’s second with us, but her first outside the womb! I could have picked about ten from her session, but I went with this one because of the softness, the peaceful moment. And because I *know* her mommy was so tired that day, and yet she just shines so radiantly.. truly the inexplicable glow of a new mom! I love the eye contact, especially in a newborn so tiny.. I think that’s a good sign for a very confident, assertive personality to come! :)   And more than anything, I love it when moms join in on the session.  We’re all tired, frazzled, and way too self conscious… but what a treasure to have, a gift for our children to remember thier early years as they truly were.. surrounded by the love of our mommies!
