Merry Christmas!

A little peek at our family card this year.. this year’s clients received an abridged version but I thought I’d share the full enchilada on here today.  It was a four-way accordion fold, hence the long panoramic image shown. Hope Santa is good to you all tomorrow!

Have Yourself a Merry Little Everything!

All together, BIG sigh of relief… the holidays are almost here!

Notwithstanding a few last minute orders that are being prepped for delivery as we speak, our holiday sessions are all complete and wrapped up, much to the pleasure of myself and my poor, sweet, overworked assistant Erin! We’ve both been burning the midnight oil to make everyone’s holiday wishes come true, and I hope we’ve at least gotten close!

Ann Beck Photography will be officially closed for business starting today, December 19th, through January 5, 2009.  Of course, this does not include anyone with an already scheduled appointment or with outstanding orders that we have indicated will be ready soon.  Any orders received this week or anytime thereafter will be delivered in January.  Feel free to call or email regarding sessions or orders any time, but be advised they will not be returned until we get back in the office in January as well.  Please know we wouldn’t be taking the time off if we didn’t REALLY need the break! :)

In the meantime.. some fun images for you to enjoy.  My last official session of the holiday season was hanging out with some of my very favorite people in the world, a family that makes me want to ditch the girls and move in with them, then quickly realize I could NEVER keep up with their pace. Much like a fabulous whirlwind vacation.. you don’t want to blink and miss a second, and for days after it’s over you are still remembering bits and pieces that bring a smile to your face.

We have been shooting together long enough that we’ve graduated from the posey portraits, a session with them constitutes me just hanging out for a few hours while they play golf, fish, and chill out over hot cocoa! What a perfect way to end a whirlwind holiday season!

I wish nothing but the best for each of you and your families over the next few weeks.. it has been an amazing year that I am so incredibly thankful for… here’s to an even more fabulous 2009!

How many cousins does it take…

to get to the Christmas spriit?  Apparantly nine.. all lined up, “our Gang” style and cute as can be!

I was thrilled to shoot this family gathering for a very dear client of mine, it was their first reunion in quite some time, lots of new faces to meet and love!  I won’t lie.. it was more than a little chaotic.. but so filled with love you couldn’t help but enjoy yourself.

Plus, I’m guessing the group trip to Chuck E Cheese that the kids were bribed with for behaving during pictures was a LOT crazier than this!

People are Good

Check out this amazing story from the always eloquent Jim Douglas at WFAA-TV. A real example of what this maddening season is supposed to be about.. from the thief who listens to his conscience to the dying, heartbroken victim who still believes that, above all, people are good.

Here’s to hoping a little bit of that spirit stays with each of you for the next few weeks!
