twins + one
I will admit, my normally cool composure was shaken as I was heading to this session… twin three year olds and their one year old brother? Ummm SURE, I can handle anything, right?!? The drive to Plano was occupied by my overly active imagination detailing all the ways it could go horribly wrong. And yet from the moment they greeted me at the door, I knew I had it all wrong. Their mommy had an incredible peace about her.. akin to the eye of a hurricane, eerily comforting in the midst of chaos.. but it translated to the whole house, and everyone followed her lead, making my “stressful” session a complete breeze!
Oh, and it certainly helped that these kids were impossibly cute… those eyes! that hair! those sweet little toes!

Oh.. and how could I forget.. those lips!! I told mama this little guy could pass for one of brad & angelina’s brood.. how kissable is he?
On the clock
My new employee was on the clock from the moment he arrived.. not returning phone calls or emails, but just curling up into a delicious little bundle that i couldn’t help but want to photograph!
I am thrilled to introduce Roman Scott, born August 31, 2008 to my sweet assistant Erin and her darling husband Scott. Big brother and sister are understandably smitten, and I couldn’t be happier for the entire family.
But you don’t care about how I feel.. I can hear you screaming at the computer now… let’s see the pictures!!!
Congratulations!!
Go Pink!
As I’ve mentioned on the blog previously, I will be participating in the 3 day, 60 mile walk for Breast Cancer this November, walking along side a team of amazing friends and family members, many of whom are survivors themselves. Each one is my hero in their own way, and I am so proud to be a part of the team, especially one working towards such an amazing goal! You can find out more about the walk at my personal page here:
http://www.the3day.org/goto/annbeck
Besides the physical challenge, we are also each responsible for raising over $2k, almost $30 as a team. It’s a huge goal, but one that pales in comparison to the trials facing the millions of families struggling with breast cancer, or mourning the lost of a loved one because of it. All of which I KNOW you all KNOW already!
I’d love to just beg for money (and I’ll certainly take it if you want to give!) but that’s no fun! I’ve come up with a few fun ways you can help us raise the much needed funds and support our team!
First.. today only, September 17th, come to Sweet Tomatoes restaurant in the Arlington Highlands for dinner! Just download this form (click here) and bring it with you when you go.. it’s as easy as that! Give yourself a break in the kitchen this evening.. and we get a great donation! Super simple.. super fun! *PLEASE NOTE* You have to bring the flyer when you eat for us to get the credit.. so don’t forget to download it!!
Second.. this Friday, September 19th, come to a scrapbooking crop! Bring your pictures and the albums you’ve been working on for years, or the ones you’ve been meaning to start for years, and come crop and chat with a bunch of great moms! It’s a $20 admission, which includes a fabulous catered meal and an evening full of fun! Click here for the flyer and more info.
Finally.. a special offer I’m doing for this fall only, with a $100 donation to my fundraising goal (just click on the link above to find out how) I’ll gift a digital key chain full of the images of your family, either a past or future session! I never sell digital images otherwise so this is the only way to get this exclusive product, and it makes a fabulous gift for dads, grandparents, and yourself! Just email me for more info!
I’ll be posting more events and promotions as they happen, but we only have about 7 weeks left.. we need your help now!
And since I can’t post without a picture, how about some new images of the.most.photographed.baby.ever.? I think it’s perfectly fitting, considering his mama will be walking right alongside me in November! Brace yourself… he is SIX months old now.. yes, I know.. and as if it were possible, I think he might just have gotten even cuter than before.
What better argument could there be for saving the breast than this sweet face?
100 days
until Christmas! Let the holiday panic attacks begin!
The first thing on your list, if you haven’t already done it, should be to book your holiday session with us… there are only a few spaces available! Weekends are almost completely gone, but we do have some space in the mini sessions open, which is a great way to update the kids’ pictures on the wall and have a nice gift for grandparents without the time and scheduling restraints of a full session. And of course, you’ll have great pictures for your fabulous cards!
We’ve just completed the designs for this year’s batch and they are so fun, so unique.. I know you will all love them! Here’s a sneak peek of a few designs, all of which have options for single sided photo cards, flat postcards, and folded four-sided design cards. More details will be available at your ordering session…

Make your life just a little bit easier… give us a call or email today!
Prayers for the Coast
Like many of you, I’m holding my breath right now as we brace for Hurricane Ike’s arrival on the Texas Coast. We have so many wonderful family memories on the Galveston and Padre beaches and my heart is breaking to see them torn apart by this incredible storm. Say a prayer for the residents, the businesses, and the rescue workers who will undoubtedly have a long road ahead of them to recover from this disaster… may their Texas spirit keep them strong!
City friends
peace, love & the big apple
A few scheduling notes… I will be out of town until Tuesday, September 9th for sessions in NYC and NJ. You are still welcome to email or call, but considering Erin’s current status (see below!) all calls and emails will not be returned until next week. We appreciate your patience! (and by the way.. if you have any friends or family in the NYC area who would like a session, shoot me an email… we might be able to fit them in!)
Other important scheduling news.. the fall calendar is almost completely booked up! October weekends are gone.. we have a few spaces in September and one in November… if you haven’t called yet, what are you waiting for? We’re sure to have a fabulous fall and we’d love for you to be a part of it! Little love sessions are also booking up quickly.. we do still have space in Fort Worth in September, but October & November have just a few spaces left each.. get em while they’re hot!
Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend… here’s a happy little shot to keep you smiling until I return!
Oh, Baby!
Ann Beck Photography’s staff has just expanded.. in a big way! The absolutely fabulous Erin, who so many of you have come to know and love as the go-to girl for all things pre and post session-related, the only person around here capable of actually returning a phone call or email within a month, the one who has been my left AND right hands for the last year, spent Labor Day Weekend in the most literal sense.. giving birth!
We are proud to welcome the new little guy, who will join a hopelessly adorable family, complete with a brother and sister who are sure to be the most doting and attentive little helpers ever seen! I’m sure we’ll have some fantastic pictures to show you soon, but for now just send your positive thoughts their way as they ease into this new way of life.. and some prayers for me as I adjust to life without my Girl Friday for a few months!
and by the way… how fantastic does she look for being 9 months pregnant in these pictures? I am beyond jealous!
