Wish I was Here

Hello again, coming to you from post-vacationland, where everyone is at their wits’ end and the laundry never ends. Our trip was amazing, and I even got to meet some old friends along the way for a quick session in the sand… and even met some new ones along the way home too! I have plenty to share this week… but first, I need a vacation! :)

A few of my favorite things…

I love, love, love getting to do sessions in the clients’ home. There’s just something so magical about making your own personal little corner of the world into a beautiful backdrop for heirloom portraits. And a bedroom, for children especially, says so much about the personality of the little one who lives there.

I was lucky enough to spend a few hours with these three darlings, each getting a turn to show me around their bedroom, show off some favorite posessions, and just be themselves. And yes… before I scare anyone off.. I did get permission from mom for the bed jumping! :)

Hope you enjoy, there are so many I love!

And a quick scheduling note.. I will be going on vacation Saturday, July 21st-Sunday, July 29th. Email will be checked periodically but most responses will come the following week after I return. Have a great week everyone… here’s to a little summer fun in the sun!

Red Hot Fun

This weekend’s mini sessions were too fun… incredibly hot.. and for once not rained out! It was a good day.. and I have so many adorable new pictures to share!

When these two got out of the car I knew it would be an exciting-and busy!-20 minutes! They did not disappoint, but were also absolutely as sweet as two boys can be.

Happy Monday Everyone!

07.07.07

Lucky me… I spent “the luckiest day of the century” as they were calling it on the news with an amazing couple and their wonderful group of family and friends as the pair tied the knot! Not only was it a great day for an anniversary, it just so happened to be 7 years to the day from their first date, which was July 7th as well. Lucky for them it worked out!

And no, I don’t technically do weddings… but let’s just say this was their lucky day! ;)

Now, a few sneak peeks… I have a TON to go through… and can’t wait to start on the album… but I couldn’t resist sharing a few…

I think this peek is really more for the family and friends.. the happy couple is relaxing on a beach in Hawaii right now… lucky them! :)

A day in the life

..of a five year old girl. It was a lot more exciting than you’d think! :)

There were pets to take care of,

Pools to jump into,

Cousins to be silly with,

Monkey bars to tackle,

Old friends to hug,

And, at the end of the day, snuggles to be shared.

Such a fun, special age… starting to be a big kid but still very much a little one. On the cusp of becoming a kindergartener, facing a brave new world ahead, but still young enough to not know what a milestone it is.

If only we could bottle that enthusiasm…. I’d be first in line! :) Have a great weekend!

Happy Fourth of July!

from last night’s fireworks over Lake Arlington…. wishing everyone a safe (and dry!) holiday!
